Art Gallery Reflection
Art Gallery Reflection
Tahi went to the Art Gallery last week. The two artist that did the art were Jae Kang and Bob Jahnke. Jae Kang's artwork is called the Waves of You Breath. Jae Kang comes from South Korea and the things that she used to make her art were, a paintbrush, ink and a ladder. Jae Kang is also a tomato grower. She says that her art is like growing tomatoes which requires a huge amount of repetitive actions. Such as the swiping gesture for cutting of tomato leaves, the winding gesture for twisting off tomatoes, and also the small act of pinching. This repetitive training is translated in Jae Kang's current work.Bob Jahnke's artwork is called ATA which means a third reflection. Bob Jahnke used fluorescent tubes and mirrors that lets you see on one side but on the other side, it mirrors it. So it looks like it keeps on going forever until your eyes can't see it anymore.
I have enjoyed going to the art gallery and learning all these things. This also has inspired me to make my own artwork one day.
